Yes. That is very common with Vitex. I took it briefly and it really screwed up my periods. I don't recommend it to anyone. It took me about 6 months to get back to a semi normal cycle again.

Yep, those supplements should be taken only if you have specific hormone imbalances confirmed with a diagnosis that they help with. If you don’t have those specific imbalances, they can seriously screw you up. They’re not harmless little boosts that can’t do any harm (Learned from experience). 
Ex. Vitex only works if the over-production of the hormone prolactin is what’s causing you not to ovulate. If you don’t have a prolactin over-production problem, it suppresses what you do make and makes you not produce enough, thus screwing up your cycle. 
If you’re having cycle problems it’s best to get blood tests done to get to the actual root of the problem before starting any supplements. They can be really helpful for the people who have the issues the supplements are meant to treat.
