I’ve been told twice in my 24 years of living that I smelled and it haunts me. The first time was by a coworker (in the army) with a bad reputation for being a jackass. He jokingly mentioned that I smelled like fish and I brushed it off because at the time I “knew” I didn’t. The second time was in August, I was coming off the airplane and this man helped me carry my sons car seat to baggage claim. Around that time I figured I smelled because I had several situations against me, the bathroom on the airplane was small and I literally had to sit on the toilet seat in order to change my sons diaper. It was already hot and smelly in there and I was in there for a long time. My son spelt pineapple juice everywhere, and I was sweating profusely from the anxiety I had from literally just up and leaving my husband. So I figured I smelled but I honestly didn’t think it was that bad to offend anyone. Well, as were standing at baggage waiting for our bags, the gentlemen’s wife tries to discretely walk past and sniff me as I’m holding my son, comes back does it again, then goes to “whisper” to the man that I smell.

So ever since then, I’ve had this fear that I smell stink and I’m not aware of it. I spend a lot of time avoiding this because of this. I know I’m being irrational but at the same time it’s hard getting past it because I think back on the other time someone had mentioned that I stink.

So, I wonder if anyone else has been told they “stink”
