5 week old slept over a 5 hr stretch?? 🤔

We did our last feed at 9:30 last night and she fell asleep around 10. I kept waking up at her normal times that she would feed and was still asleep. So I fell back asleep and I woke up at 4:30 and was still sleeping! So as a panic mom I decided to wake to feed. Thats 6.5 hours of not eating. Can she go that long since she's only 5 weeks??

If she’s back at/over birth weight it’s fine. My son was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks.

If baby is back at birth weight I would not wake to feed. Babies are way smarter than we think and they will eat more during the day when they start to sleep longer stretches.

If I see one more post like this I'm going to cry lol. I felt lucky with 3 hour stretches. My son is a hog and eats so much. Soak up the sleep while you can! It may change.

The lactation consultant that I had, told me that it's okay if they have ONE (1) longer stretch, up to 6 hours, of sleep in a 24 hour period but not more than that. Mine needed to be woken up to eat some times too. Freaked me out. But, the good news is, shes 18 months old now and her weight has been over the 50th percentile since she was only 3 months old. So I feel good about what she told me.

Weight is a factor. My daughter was small and gained weight slowly so I was told to wake her up for feeds. But if baby is gaining weight properly it's all good
