Thinking about quitting my job

I am a daycare teacher and work with 2 infants and 2 toddlers and I have my own child who is almost 2 years old.

I’ve been trying to hang in there and stay but I’ve been so Mentally and emotionally drained lately. We have a lot bit of savings and I think I want to take a break. Give my 2 weeks notice and just stay in with my baby.

My in laws got COVID and my child was exposed and I didn’t know and I feel so bad for exposing the other children at work ( me and my child go to same daycare).

I also feel bad for leaving my director without a teacher but I think I need to think about me and my family

What would you do?

Maybe take a leave of absence to make sure that's what you really want. If it's tcovid exposure you should be forced to stay home and the daycare should be sanitized.

Wait, what? Did your child quarantine after exposure?

I’m an Early Childhood Educator. I feel your pain. If you can take a leave of absence that might be a good option especially if you like your job and might want to return. If you want to flat out quit and you can afford it then go for it. Child care is hard, emotionally draining and leaves you exhausted. I don’t blame you.

You and your family first. If you're able to why not
