How often do you give your partner money?

My boyfriend and I have been together since September of 2018, but I have been handing him pretty much all of my money since early 2019. Every time I get paid, he gets the majority of what I bring in and I get the shorter end of the stick. For example, my last check was $560. He got $440 and I got $120. I know that some of you will think that I am crazy to have been doing this for so long, but i’m really curious if anybody has ever experienced something like this before with their partner? Now I want to add that I have honestly lost sight of the reason why I have even been doing this for him so long in the first place. In the beginning of our relationship he would always tell me that he could “flip” the money and make it a larger amount, or he would say that he needs it for personal reasons like to put gas in his car or for other daily personal needs. Now I just don’t know what i’m giving him the money for. He doesn’t even give me a reason why he needs it anymore, it’s just gotten to a point where it’s like he expects me to just come out of my pocket and give up the money by default. I blame myself because I have let this go on for so long. I will say now that what’s bothering me the most is that we have nothing to show for it. He would tell me that he’s saving the money and putting it aside for important things we need like an apartment, but yet we still have no apartment. We don’t live together so it’s not like I can actually see with my own eyes where all this money is going. I actually just recently lost my car because I would let him dictate when and how much to pay on my car note. Stupid, I know. I have recently asked him where all of this money has been going, and if he even has any of it saved up at this point, but I was not given a straight answer. I want to ask him again, but I feel like what’s the point when i’m most likely not going to get a decent response. I just feel so lost with all of this.
