I’m 13 weeks on Sunday. I was using my at home heart doppler to listen to baby and I found 2 different heart beats. I immediately thought “was that a different heart beat?”

They weren’t in the same spot. I know one of them was not my own because you can obviously hear the difference in sound and bpm. Which I have heard.

One was 167 and the other was 160. My last ultrasound was at 9 weeks and there was only one baby...unless the other is hiding? That’s only 7bpm from each other. Could it just be the same heart beat?

I have been told by one person that it’s the umbilical cord and what I’ve googled says the placenta should sound like a swooshing sound and not a heart beat.

I have never heard of hearing the umbilical cord before and neither has my family members that have had babies.

Thoughts?
