Opinions on no middle name?

I have have never liked middle names and honestly don't see a purpose in them. I am debating not giving my baby a middle name but my husband thinks it's weird. What are your opinions?

I like middle names. I like to pick a first name I/we like, and then a middle name of meaning, after someone or something significant.
But my sister in law doesn't have a middle name and I don't think it's weird. Just different 😊

The only reason my July 2021 baby will have a middle name is because my June 2020 baby has one. Just seems weird to give one baby a middle name and not the other. We named our June 2020 baby’s middle name after my husbands late father but we have absolutely no clue what we should make out July 2021 baby’s middle name. I wish I could bring myself to just not use one.

My husband doesn't have a middle name -- apparently not so common to have one in Germany? Never been a problem and he's never missed it - just one less thing to fill out on forms.
