Is this normal for 2 year old?
My son turned 2 in November so he is almost 26 months old.
I signed him up for kickball for 2-3 year olds. He loves running and kicking balls so I figured it would be fun for him.
Well I took him today and he was not focused at all running around picking up all the cones and not listening. When I told him stop, he started having tantrums.
All the other kids there were listening and following instructions. Granted, it was 4 girls and only 2 boys and maybe girls just listen better?
Idk I was kind of embarrassed. I know that 2 year olds can be crazy but my son wasn’t listening at all and was the only kid behaving that way, that’s why I’m concerned.
He goes to daycare and they say he’s very well behaved (compared to other kids). Could it be possible that the kids at the group were a little older maybe closer to age 3 and that’s why they were following instructions?
I’m just worried my son may have ADHD or something.
Moms who have boys, were your boys like my son at age 2? Or should I get him evaluated?
**EDIT: I should have included this but yes he has gone to all his well visits and his pediatrician evaluates for behavior and autism at 6 months, 1 year, 18 months and age 2 (mainly because she sees so much more autism now so she is VERY thorough at each well visit). She said his development is normal even his speech and actually felt like his physical milestones were somewhat advanced 🤷♀️.
My guess is the kids in that 2-3 year old soccer group were closer to age 3 and my kid was the youngest.
I don’t want to put pressure on him at all. I feel badly distributing the soccer group so if he does the same thing next week I’ll probably just cancel and wait til he is closer to 3.
Thanks for all your input!!
