Covid concerns whilst working

Hello! I’m currently just over 30 weeks pregnant and don’t start maternity leave until 36 weeks. However I work in a supermarket that claim they can keep me and baby safe but I don’t feel they can. I wear a mask all shift and social distance but it’s just come out that a few people have tested positive for the virus and they weren’t going to tell anyone, customers don’t care they’ll lick their fingers to unstick their money and I have to still take it, I have to deal with people returns as well that have clearly been worn! When I’m on shop floor people will pat me on the shoulder and stand right next to me even when I move away they move closer or i tell them to move back but they don’t! The screens on the checkouts aren’t very good people will come around them and poke their heads around!

I’m not sure what I am able to do at this point as I don’t feel my job is Covid safe but no one seems to be listening to me 🤷‍♀️

Hi, I’m not sure if this helps but this is on the government website. It’s got guidance for before and after 28 weeks. Years ago I used to work for Sainsbury’s and they always seemed to get anyone who was pregnant moved to the back offices like HR, training etc (not sure if those roles are still around). Have a read and show them the guidance as to me you shouldn’t be interacting with the customers especially as they aren’t following the rules https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-pregnant-employees/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-pregnant-employees
