When do you lower the crib mattress?

My pediatrician asked if it was lowered when we went for his 6 mo check yesterday

When baby can pull themselves up to sit. Ours is pretty low tho even at the highest setting

I drop it around 6 or 7 months.

I think it’s when they can sit themselves up by themselves or if they’re pulling themselves up to their knees. 
My daughter isn’t doing that but is also tall so I’m feeling I may drop it sooner. 
No harm in that!
