TTC for 2 years

Gabriela

Hi everyone,

Myself and my fiancé have tried to convince for 2 years now, I’m 22 years old and he is 23.

I stopped taking the pill in August 2018 and started trying at Christmas that year; by December 2019 I’d had about 3-4 periods which obviously meant I didn’t ovulate so my chances of getting pregnant were very small. After numerous doctors appointments and blood tests I was told there was nothing wrong with me.

In January 2020 I had an ultrasound scan which showed little cysts which from what the nurse told me “could not be measured or counted” and so this was a good thing as

those would potentially be eliminated once I had a period. She told me not to worry about it as it doesn’t look like anything nasty and to carry on doing what we are doing (Just to keep you updated, my periods started being regular from January 2020). From what they said I didn’t require another ultrasound scan to review the cysts as they did not look harmful.

February 2020 my fiancé had a sperm test which came back absolutely fine too so I knew the main issue for us was my periods being irregular.

The whole of 2020 I had periods, not always on time but came, i ovulated, I tracked everything, but still not pregnant. In December 2020 I requested another ultrasound scan which showed just the one cysts which again, I have been told, it doesn’t look like anything nasty, but because (even though i didn’t ovulated for almost a year because of my periods) I’m classed as TTC for 2 years I have now been referred to the fertility department which should get in touch with me to continue with a plan hopefully.

It’s now getting to the point that I’m scared there is something wrong with me and nobody seems to know what if anything...

My question is, has anybody experienced or is experiencing this?

Thanks!
