When did you feel safe taking your baby out?

My baby is six weeks old and has been kept in the house with the exception of doctor’s appointments and daily walks outside, just me and her. I would eventually like to be able to take her to the grocery store just to get out of the house, nothing crazy. I don’t know that I’ll ever be comfortable with corona, but if that didn’t exist...when did you take your baby out in public for the first time?

I kept my daughter in the house for six weeks minimum because I was raised on not taking babies out so early due to germs. At this point you can go out with baby just be careful. I kept a car seat cover on at all times to protect her as well just an overbearing / protective mom

Since she was born she just goes where we go. 🤷🏼‍♀️ she’s 5mo now and tomorrow we fly home from Christmas vacation.

My baby is 14 weeks and has only been to doctors appointments or my moms house (she has to quarantine due to my sisters chronic illness so she’s in our bubble). One time he did come with me to my husbands work but he only went to his desk - we stayed far away from anyone else and kept his car seat cover on. 
I’m too nervous to risk anything during the pandemic. Plus we are now in flu season. Once he gets his flu shot at 6 months (i believe) - then I’ll feel a bit more comfortable.

Precovid I took baby to his doc appts and I wore him in a Moby sling to a few stores when at about 1-2 months once family stopped helping so much. But we didn’t take him out to eat until he was 4 months old! 
Pregnant second time and if it wasn’t for covid, I’d probably start taking baby out around 1-2 months just because my toddler would be out and about, I may still need to.
BUT, he will either be in a sling carrier on me or in his car seat the whole time. This helps prevent people from touching him and keeps him relatively protected from surface germs though nothing can protect them from airborne.
When you do take baby out, surely people aren’t so foolish with covid now, but if anyone tries to touch your baby or gets their face/hands too close, don’t feel bad about turning into a mama bear straightaway and sending them packing! Even pre-covid mommies everywhere did that 💕

Pre COVID I took my son camping at 8 days old..I’m due with another one in a couple months and I’m not sure now with the whole covid thing

We took our son to church with us at 2 weeks old. Of course this was pre-covid. We held him or had him in his car seat the whole time. We didn’t have any issues and people kept with the look-don’t-touch rule without us even having to say anything.

I took my first to Christmas Eve service at 4 days. My second to moms group at church at 2 days old. It depends on you & your comfort level. This was pre covid. But I needed community.

I took my son to Walmart at 5 weeks but left the car seat cover on and uncovered his face so I could see him. I’m super nervous about leaving the house but I am just super careful and wash my hands etc
