When should I take the test ?

Hey girlies I’m uneducated on taking a pregnancy test but my partner and I had sexual intercourse December 16th while I was fertile (if you’re not open to having kids at the moment or ever take my advice. “Don’t live in the moment take EVERYTHING into consideration.” 😂) then I bled for two days before this months expected cycle to which I was told (from Dr.Google and Reddit) was implantation bleeding so instead of freaking out I decided to wait to see what my cycle would do and if it was going to come sometime this week but it’s still missing 🥲🥲 so my question is do I take a test today or wait ? And are there like ground rules to taking it ? Like at a certain time are anything I should be informed about before taking one ?

I’m not asking for much but for the negative Nancy’s can you please not do it today especially since we most likely don’t know anything about one another.
