How did you narrow it down? 😳

We’ve finally come up with a list of names we both like, but we have like 7 names on the list and can’t seem to narrow it down any from here. How did you start narrowing or deciding once you had a list of names you liked?

We googled First Last, First Middle, and First Middle Last to see if any of them were associated with something significant enough to be a problem. Then we also googled initials to see if they were a well known disease or a hate group or something.
We also said First Last, First Middle Last, and First Middle together out loud many times in different voices, volumes, tones, speeds. We ruled out a few that way for either being hard to say, flowing awkwardly, or for the end of one word and the beginning of the next sounding like another word when blurred together.
We talked together about what we imagined a child with each name might be like. Mostly just to get more of a sense of how we felt about each name.
And then we took our list of finalists with us to the birth, intending to decide once we met her. Two of our top five first names we ruled out right away after seeing her. The other three all felt reasonable, and it was hard to choose!

I waited until my son was born so I could get a good look at him and see which name fit best. Something I’ll do with all my babies!

With our first my partner want Sophia I didn’t I wanted Amelia or olivia or Kimberly were my top 3 so in the end he said we’re go with Amelia we did the night before I gave birth we changed it to Olivia. My son we couldn’t agree on anything he was born 5 weeks early was nameless for 3 days so let him name him... Our 3rd was me name her if a girl him name him If a boy we both had names picked out though I didn’t like the boys name 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 luckily she was a girl (3 months old) i named her Amelia.

We only agreed on one name. Idk what we’re going to do about this baby. I like to make sure the name we pick isn’t too common so I check the baby nine top 100

I have never been able to narrow down the list to one name before the baby was born. Both my husband and I have found out that we really need to see him to see which name fits. With my first we actually tried out all our favorite names on the list and we're surprised that none of them felt right. We had to go back to the drawing board and actually found a brand new name that we loved and fit him perfectly

My husband was dead set on Emily as a first name. I finally gave in bc I really wanted baby to have a name while in my belly. With our second I just kept saying the names out loud and I just had a feeling with one name

I just had a name that eventually stuck. Like every time I thought of the baby, that's name name that would come to mind. But that didn't happen until towards the very end of the pregnancy. I didn't force it and was even open to deciding after the birth.

I just kept crossing off the least favorite until we got down to 3 left. Then waited until our daughter was born and finally decided between the remaining 3 names after we got to meet her. Planning on doing the same for our little boy on the way.
