I went to college and got a degree in Design Technology. Shortly after I got a job working for a construction company a mainly man employed business. I was hired on entry level at $15/hr. I figured this was reasonable since it was entry level and I had no experience. I have now been working there for 2 years on February 4th and have not had a single raise. I feel like I deserve one because I now have 2 years experience with this company. My friends without college degrees make more working at Target than I do. (Not bashing them at all, just a little jealous and annoyed with myself for possibly wasting money on college to only make $15/hr.)

I want to ask for a raise but also just found out I’m about 5 weeks pregnant. A couple people in my office already know but my boss does not. Should I tell him tomorrow so it doesn’t get to him from someone else.

Should I not even ask for a raise since they will be looking for someone to fill my spot in about 8 months while I’m on maternity leave. I don’t want him to think I’m asking for a raise because I’m pregnant and will have more expenses. I want him to know I’m asking because I genuinely believe I deserve one. I am so scared to ask for one.
