what to do

So me and my boyfriend have been together forever 3 years now and we are good I love him to death .. he’s 30 and I’m 22 he has a son and I do not have kids yet but I want to he made a comment and said “he doesn’t want any right now” && then sometimes he jokes and said he doesn’t want more period.. I don’t have kids but I do want them in the future is this the relationship for me I just don’t wanna waste 3 more years or am i tripping ladies..
