Have any of you mamas had a water birth??

Please let me know your experience and if you have also had a natural birth, how would you compare it?

Yes! First was a land birth at home, second was a water birth at home. I’m a go-with-what-works-in-the-moment birther. We had the pool and I used it for labor with my first, but I seemed to relax too much when I was in the water. It’s a common thing for people to say not to get in too soon, they life 5 or 6 cm. And I was 6 when I got in. But once I did I had a major stall in dilation. I kept trying the water for relief, but I couldn’t finish dilating. So I ended up in my bed and when it was time to push, I didn’t want to climb out and get in the water so I stayed.
With #2, I avoided the water. We had it ready, but I was determined not to get in until we were close. I waited til I was really having trouble with the contractions and they were really close together, then asked my midwife Boutthe water. She wanted to check me first. We did that, I was 7-8, she said water would be fine. Another contraction hit as I was getting out of the bed, she wanted to check me again (she still had a full view), and told me I’d be having a baby with the next one and needed to head for the water if I wanted to do that. So I got up, took the 5 steps to the pool, got down on my knees, pulled one leg up so my foot was flat and my knee was by my ear and out came her head. Next contraction, we had a whole baby. No pushing from me. My body did it, but I couldn’t seem to give it any extra, though I tried. It was an incredible feeling and a great way to birth. Planning the same for baby #3 later this year 😍 hoping for a similar labor 🙏🏻

Same as everyone else who posted. First land home birth and second water birth and I was able to relax more and manage the contractions better with waterbirth but still had the ring of Fire and still burned like hell while crowning and pushing. 
I am not sure how hospitals plan it if you are planning a hospital water birth or birthing center water birth but for my homebirth water or not made no difference on price since I didn’t rent a pool and used my tub. 
I will say most homebirths range from 2-5k mine being on the lower end of that range in Phoenix AZ (relatively large metro area with average cost of living) 
And with my insurance I would have payed the same at a hospital considering I have a deductible. So just depends 🤷🏻‍♀️

My first was a water birth and I loved it. 
I got in when I was transitioning (7-8cm) and it was so amazing as when in the water it really relaxed me and a natural pain relief as I was going drug free.
My second labor was hard and fast and did have time to fill the pool

I did with my second babe! I had her at home in a birthing tub in our bedroom:) getting in it felt so amazing. It was like a “natural epidural”. It brought me a ton of relief. It still was super hard birthing her lol but it helped SO much. I would recommend it for sure! That was my second natural birth and it was much better and way more peaceful. I also really recommend home birth ♥️

I LOVED my water birth. I don’t get to to a home/birth center birth this time but the hospital I’m delivering at will at least let me do a water birth again (:
