Are you doing Baby Led Weaning?

I did the traditional intro to food with my (now) 15yrs old. I am curious about BLW for my baby girl, but terrified of her choking.

No, I’ve seen to many babies choke and had to unchoke them , the “normal” way is absolutely fine and we did it with our first and he has the best pallet a child could have he East’s everything and anything even olives and black pudding so we are doing that again and he’s LOVING it so far. The only food ill let him bite on is a rusk

If you have Facebook this is a BLW group, they have a lot of information and files you can read through and signs of readiness, ect. I will say they have a lot of group rules and some moms can be downright mean so I rarely post and just browse.
My first didn’t do great with it but we tried. And now she’s the typical picky wont-eat-crap toddler. I want to try harder with my second because I’ve seen a lot of posts where it helps the toddler explore more food too since they’re watching the sibling do it.
I still do combo feeding anyways (purée and BLW) because my parents and MIL help watch my kids. BLW scares the crap out of them and that’s okay, I would never want them doing something they’re not comfortable with that could get them in a choking situation. My husband and I are both CPR certified, so we know what to do in those bad circumstances. My MIL is downright awful at freaking out and gasping “oh my god!” and even that’s a big no-no in BLW because if baby is gagging/coughing you’re supposed to stay calm as they learn to cough and work it out themselves. But if you freak out then they think something is wrong and panic and then could really start choking. My MIL would have a stroke watching real BLW 😂😂😂

No. I didn’t have good luck with it with my son, who’s now 18M. I’ll be doing traditional purées, oatmeal, baby food, etc. My son’s motor skills and independence skills are fine. I was told by other moms that by not doing BLW, I’m hindering his development. 🙄
