Breakup

Hi everyone recently My boyfriend of 7 years broke up with me and i think he’s making excuses for why. We were together for 6 years before having to do long distance because of covid. He always said he didn’t do long distance but before i left i asked him if he was going to break up with me and he said no. we did long distance for 9 months and then on new year’s eve he said he didn’t want to do it anymore... he had never said anything before this about wanting to breakup but said he thought about it for months so it was a big shock to me:( He says that he has to be happy and live his life and that it’s not fair to him because he’s missing out on a lot of things. He said i can’t make him happy from across the US and that i can’t be there the way he needs me to even though i’ve always been there i just can’t be there physically at the moment. We had a plan to live together and it was only going to be a couple more months of long distance till we could’ve done that but he just gave up and i feel like there’s something else going on.
