Did you find boys developed slower than girls?

Hi! So I’m a FTM to an almost 2 year old boy. He is funny and silly and so so smart. The majority of my friends have girls, including one that is the same age as my son. Out of the little girls I know around his age, they’re talking a lot more, have interest in being potty trained, etc. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but people keep telling me that boys develop later than girls. For people who have had both or had experience with both, was this the case in your situation? My son does say words but goes through phases where he’s not too chatty. I have read he’s supposed to be putting 2-3 words together, and I’m worried that that’s not okay? I try not to worry about it and I know every kid develops at their own pace but it’s hard when there’s all this stuff happening around me
