When my daughter was a few weeks old I noticed odd eye movements. Multiple dr’s told me it was normal. I pushed the paediatrician to refer us to an ophthalmologist. We just went back to our second apt. Not only is she partially deaf ( she wears hearing aids) but she also has mild vision impairment and will need glasses. And will have something called nystagmus (“dancing eyes”) for the rest of her life. She’s near sighted and probably has 20-60 to 20-70 vision. We go back in 6 months to find out more. And will be doing genetic testing.

I just feel so bad, this poor girl. I feel so guilty like I did something wrong. I worry about her future. And her self confidence. We will definitely try or best to make her proud of who she is. We’ve 100% embraced her hearing loss but having a hard time taking in the vision loss aswell.

She is just the sweetest thing and her 3 big brothers love her so much. She will definitely have a lot of people looking out for her 💜
