Do i still have to pump if I feed my baby what I catch in my haakaa throughout the day?

Throughout the day, I usually get about 3 ounces in my Haakaa just from leakage while breastfeeding. If I use those three oz for one bottle feeding, do I still have to pump? Since I'm producing that milk throughout the day, I feel like I shouldn't have to

3 oz in the hakaa from one sitting? If not then you might be getting primarily foremilk. Foremilk will still show a fatty layer in a refrigerated bottle but giving baby only foremilk can be rough on the baby bowels. I switch boobs during feeds but if my boobs are extra engorged like from baby's first long sleep at night, I slap a hakaa on whichever boob baby isnt nursing on. Usually get 30-50mL in that one sitting. I'll mix it with pumped milk from the same day (I only pump during work) to keep a bit of the foremilk/hind milk balance.

What you’re missing tho is the stimulation from the feed you are skipping when using the bottle. That’s the reason why people pump if they’ve given a bottle to signal your body that baby is having milk during that time. If that makes sense 🤔 lol

If you’re giving baby a bottle, you should pump to replace that missed feed from your body otherwise you’re telling your body to slow down on milk production

Pumping isn’t a requirement to feed baby lol.  Just put baby to the breast when they’re hungry and that’s fine
