Why cant I lose weight

I’m so freaking frustrated with my body. I eat under 1500 calories a day and workout every day, and I drink plenty of water, take a multi-vitamin...but still cannot lose a pound. I had a full metabolic panel done, and my TSH and Thyroid antibody tested and all were normal. I’m tired all the time, cranky, have been getting hives from the cold air, I feel swollen and puffy...I’m so over it! I used to weigh 160 and could eat whatever I wanted and not gain. Now I weigh 215 and I cannot get past that! I feel gross in my body. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve expressed this frustration to my doctor for almost a year now and she has no solutions except to take weight loss pills. I just feel like that’s a bandaid and when I stop them I’ll gain it all back. This is really getting to me :(

Stress plays a huge factor in weight loss. And if you’re not getting enough sleep, it’s a complete game changer. It can mess with your metabolism and put your body through a stress response which could play a huge factor in your weight. So aside from calories, take a look at the stressors in your life and quality of your sleep. See if there are any areas you can improve on and take it slow. I realize this is much easy said then done, given what the world is going through right now. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Someone had mentioned intermittent fasting. Which can work well for some but it has been shown that it can have a negative response in women during times of stress. Whether it mental or body stress such as: during our period, healing from birth or healing from something physical. The negative response plays with your thyroid gland which ultimately causes you to hit a brick wall and have hormone issues. ALTHOUGH fasting has done wonders for some people if they have low stress

Ugh same. I’m literally 10 pounds from my highest weight and that is when I was PREGNANT. I hate it. Nothing I do works. I’ve been doing keto (which I’ve had success with many times before) low cal, working out at orange theory. It just won’t come off. I have no idea what to do

Weightloss is so complex, it's more then just calories in calories out. How long have you been eating 1500 calories for? When you workout and burn calories you should be eating them back if not your metabolism can slow down. You should try slowly upping your calories to make up for what your burning. Are you getting your calories from healthy foods ? Are you getting enough sleep? . Are you getting lots of movement throughout the day? If your feeling puffy you could be holding onto water. I find when I sleep crappy I hold water or eat any fast food. What kind of workouts are you doing? Maybe it time to switch it up a bit. Try filling yourself with healthy fats, protein, veggies and less/no processed foods. When I trained for fitness competitions I would eat crazy strict then fridays my dinner would be whatever I was craving. Now I stick to intermittent fasting and it's been going well so far. I just had my second daughter 4 months ago so I'm still loosing baby weight I dont bother counting calories until the weightloss stops. I workout as much as I can while tending to 2 kids. I lift weights during the day and cardio at night while they are in bed. Just try mixing things up. Change the calories, maybe try different workouts, make sure to eat as clean as possible. It takes time dont stress that wont help anything either. Best of luck I know its frustrating when it's not working out!

You might not be eating enough calories. Also, watch sugar intake. There’s sugar in so many things you wouldn’t think. I know when I increase my coffee intake I gain so quick because I’m drinking it with creamer and adding a ton of sugar. Once I cut it I go back down to my “normal” weight. Also, I like the TAZO brand tea, their dessert delights line is so good. I’ve tried the vanilla bean macaroon and lemon loaf and they seriously hit my sweet tooth with no sugar added. It’s perfect right now because it’s cold out!

Hmm. What kind of workouts are you doing? Do you lift heavy weights? Are the 1500 calories full of fiber and protein?
