Botched pap cause infection?

Went in to OBGYN for my first ultrasound and also had my first Pap smear done. They told me the doctor would have a student with her but it ended up just being the student that performed the procedure. She messed it up, it was EXTREMELY painful and couldn’t find my cervix. The doctor then had to come in and do it again. They reused the same tool twice. Now my vagina is itchy, red and irritated. No smell or discharge. Could they have caused an infection? Should I be concerned?

They may have. I would call the doctors office back and request to be seen again.
I dont allow students to perform procedures on me or my family. I will allow the student to be present to learn, but that's it. When a doctor comes in and introduces himself and the student and asks if they can be present you say "absolutley, but without hands please".

yes, i honestly would be. you should contact the doctor and let them know what you’re feeling bc that isn’t ok. don’t let students ever practice on you as they’re learning and don’t know what they’re doing. i had a speculum exam and cervix exam last week due to spotting and cramping (im pregnant) the resident that did it made it seem like that was his first time doing it and it hurt so much. i honestly think speculum was too big for me and a “medium” and it was suppose to be a small. even when the head doctor and resident did cervix exam with fingers it hurt so bad, didn’t seem like they lubed up. i thought i was gonna die from the pain. i have BV which is an infection but still it shouldn’t of been that bad.. those exams made me bleed for about 3-4 days 😒
