Undecended testicles

Ra

Has anyone had any experience with this? My 17 month old son was born with a hydrocele which has resolved itself. However, it's just been picked up on a ultrasound that he has got undecended testicles. He will now be referred to urology then will be put on the routine operating list to get this corrected. I really don't want my baby getting an anaesthetic but understand this needs corrected 😢 I am also a bit annoyed this has only just been detected and that I didn't notice it. I was reading online that ideally this should be corrected by 12 months and is more likely to cause infertility if left longer later in life. Due to the pandemic this could take a year to be carried out and I worry its going to cause issues but I also want to keep him out of hospital during a pandemic.
