How should I get my lo to talk?

She always cry’s or grunts when she wants something. Sometimes she says what she wants like “wawa” (water) baba (bottle) “up” or “poop” whenever she poops. Is this normal for an 18 month old?

She’s talking more then my baby. And I would just suggest talking to her all the time or playing music in the background. She understands you babies are smarter then they look.

She definitely understands more than you think she does, you just need to encourage her to try to communicate. When she tries to say something, ‘baba’ for example, say ‘Yes, bottle! Wow, good job talking! I love when I can understand what you want!’. 
Talk to her as much as possible. Like all the time, in full, complex sentences. Read lots of books to her. Narrate what you’re doing, how and why you’re doing it, and don’t use baby talk. Before my daughter started talking I would always ask her questions and pause for an answer, and then answer for her. Communication is a two way street, even that young. And remember, all kiddos develop at their own rate and there is a wide range of normal, but if you’re concerned about something talk to your pediatrician.

It’s normal. I would definitely try talking to them like they’re not a child. Using full sentences, try to respond them like they said a clear words/ sentences. They hand you something say “thank you for handing me (insert object)” maybe even describe it like yellow crayon or their green sippy cup.
