I am pregnant with baby number 4.

I lost baby number 3 @ 19 weeks while I had Thyroid Cancer.

Just had my thyroid completely removed in January.

Now I’m considered high risk because my bag broke open for unknown reasons at 19 weeks after leaking for about 2.5 weeks.... misdiagnosed at ER with a UTI. Given antibiotics and then my bag completely broke after about 2 weeks of leaking.

This pregnancy I was told I have a low laying placenta. They said it isn’t covering my cervix but it is low. They are asking me to come back for another ultrasound at 30 weeks to check and see if it self corrects to the right placement.

I didn’t get the McKenna shots at 16 weeks because my horrid OBGYN didn’t even call me back after 5 weeks of waiting. Finally I have a new doc.

They ordered the auto inject shots for me to take at home.

What are your experience with these shots?

If I’m supposed to start them between-the weeks of 16-20 should I even take them at all?

I had thyroid cancer, which is a hormonal cancer... I read online that people with hormonal cancers or a history of them shouldn’t take these shots. Why not?

Is there a risk of me loosing baby by taking these shots vs just hoping my baby remains inside and healthy until at least 36 weeks?! I just don’t know if the risks outweigh the benefits if there are no real benefits to taking the meds since I didn’t start them at 16-20 weeks and I had hormonal cancer.

Please share your experience with the shots.
