Induce or no?

I’m currently 31 weeks. My doctor told me today at our next appointment we’ll go over my options to induce at 39 weeks. This is my second baby and I am currently on blood thinners. She said one benefit to inducing would be knowing when to stop the blood thinners so there’s no risk of not getting an epidural. Obviously I still need to talk with her more as we get closer to the due date. I just wanted to see if anyone has been induced and what their experience was. Labor with my first child went so perfectly and I’ve heard horror stories of inducing. But I also like the idea of knowing when we’ll go to the hospital and knowing the blood thinners will be out of my system enough. Thanks in advance for your opinion!

I was induced at 42 weeks and it ended in a c-section. I’m on blood thinners as well and my doc will switch me to heparin 36 weeks, that has a shorter half live and they can also give you something to counteract the heparin. I would not chose an induction unless it is totally necessary. I would rather labor at home than in the hospital.

I was induced with my first one and it’s was not a pleasant experience. My labour sky rocketed, so they were too late to put epidural that I was relying so much on. 
With my second, I said I’d do anything not to be induced with pitocin. So they put foley balloon for 24 hours and then broke my waters. That was the best option.

My 1st pregnancy I was induced at 39 weeks the delivery was painful because the anesthesiologist didn’t  give me enough medicine to help numb me. Of course I had no choice but to have her. It was very painful.
My 2nd pregnancy I was induced at at 39 weeks due to being high risk because I had a mini stroke in January of 2016. My doctor put me on Enoxaparin (a blood thinner) up until 39 weeks. The night I went in to be induced that was 12 that night. I couldn’t get the epidural because of the Enoxaparin (a blood thinner) in my system for to long. It took a while for labor to began. They used 3 pills to try to loosen up my cervix. Luckily the 3rd pill helped. The delivery was awful/painful. I thought I was going to die. 
I have 10 weeks left until I give birth to my baby girl. The doctor already spoke to me about the plans. He wants me to have a Painless pregnancy. So he told me instead of taking me off Enoxaparin (a blood thinner) at 39 weeks.. he’s going to at 35 but I’ll be switched to Heparin instead. Then I’ll be able to get the epidural. 
I pray everything works out for me this last pregnancy.

I was induced with my last baby, I had the Foley catheter. It all went well, I would highly recommend the Foley catheter if you get induced 
But I would find out the risk involved with not being induced and then make your decision. If it’s a low risk then definitely consider waiting to go into labour

I am a FTM on Lovenox and will be doing an elective induction 10 days early!! Mostly to prevent any complications, but also because I want to.

My first labor was natural no inductions. Second I was induced and it was horrible. I will only accept inductions if I absolutely have too.

It’s different for everyone. I know so many women who had easy inductions. I, however, did not Lol I was 40w1d and my fluid level was low so they induced. My body wasn’t ready and I was in labor, on pitocin for 27 hours before I made it to 10cm. Contractions were all over the place. Super irregular. Then for hours would come  for 1 minute long, I’d get 30 seconds to rest then another 2 minute long contraction... for hourssss this happened. There was nothing “natural” about my induction. I made it to 7cm before I needed the epidural. Then didn’t progress for 10 hours all while still having contractions. Once I made it to 10cm I pushed for 45 min to find out baby was crooked and I had to have a csection. So, I had to recover from a long, sleepless labor and a csection. I’ll never be included EVER again. So, like I said. It’s different for everyone, it’s all circumstantial.

My water was leaking but I wasn’t dilating so they used Pitocin to push labor and let me tell you...it was horrible for me. I remember going from 10pm to 5am in so much pain and not sleeping one time. Contractions moved to my back and my mom and sister were pushing as hard as they could with their fist in my back because the contractions caused so much pain. They almost would take my breath away. When I felt one starting to come on I remember wanted to bawl my eyes out every single time. I got the epidural about 6am and it was better but 2 hours later the pain started to come back. It wasn’t the best experience. I have always said since then that I will never be induced unless I absolutely have to. I would rather be pregnant for 42 weeks than be induced before. This pregnancy I am having a scheduled c section though due to major tearing with my last. Everyone is different though so you could do wonderful!! Good luck momma!

I was induced. I wouldn’t say it was a horror story. The labor was pretty good, but the initial contractions were terrible. Like I honestly had my husband walk behind me because I thought I was going to puke and pass out from the pain but I physically couldn’t sit either so I had to pace the room. 
Once I got the epidural, all was good haha. I did also have to sleep with a peanut between my legs for hours, but it’s because it was taking long for me to get to 10cm dilated (took 6 just to get to 4cm)
