I've had hypothyroidism since I was 19. I'm now 34. I found out about 7 years ago that I have Hashimotos which is what caused my hypothyroidism. Best thing to do is get tested for TSH, free T3, and T4 to get a full picture. If you end up being hypo or hyper than get your antibodies tested to ensure you find out if you have autoimmune disorder that may cause it. And start working on a healthy diet. Lots of whole foods, be as active physically as you can so you can keep your levels as optimal as possible and better cope if you get a diagnosis.
Any tips on thyroid health?
I just recently learned BOTH sides of my immediate family have various thyroid issues so I assume later in my life this will most likely trickle it’s way down to me. I’m 23 going to be 24 later this year, does anyone have any tips for thyroid health or to ensure it stays healthy for as long as possible?
And yes, I know I should consult a doctor for the best advice, but it’s 9:30 PM here and I’m just curious what any one else might have to say for the time being! 😄
