Night feedings - how do you know which sounds are hunger cues and which are just sleep noises

La

I’m a FTP with a delicious almost 6 week old son. He makes a lot of noises at night and in his sleep. I know that crying is a late stage hunger cue and always aim to feed him before he starts crying. But at night when he is swaddled and it’s dark, how do I distinguish between normal sleep sounds and early hunger cues? (Normally, hands in mouth would be a reliable indicator for me, but since he is swaddled, he can’t get his hands up there.) I’m constantly waking up and trying to peek into his bassinet to see what’s going on, having to turn on a nightlight. etc and it’s making it impossible to sleep / I think I end up waking him up too!
