Should stimulus checks be reserved for those who agree to be vaccinated?
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — As the Biden Administration pushes for a new $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, an Ohio representative wants to see future direct payments reserved for those that get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Rep. Steve Stivers, R-Ohio, told Yahoo News in an interview “I hope the administration will look at that option because we actually buy something with our $1,400 and that’s herd immunity.”
Stivers's office said in a statement after the interview that he intends an exemption for those who are not able to take the vaccine for medical reasons, if Congress decides to go along with his idea.
