Chemical Pregnancy/Ectopic Pregnancy
Ladies,
A little history so you can understand my concerns.. in 2018 my husband and I were thrilled to learn I was pregnant with our first! I had what was considered early pregnancy symptoms (cramps, headache and spotting). Prior to finding out we were pregnant we had booked a trip to Aruba to celebrate our anniversary. As a first time mother to be I was extremely nervous about leaving the country while so early on in my pregnancy. I had called my OB a few times to schedule first appointments, mention symptoms and of course get a better feel about traveling. A few days before we were scheduled to leave I called because my spotting had not stopped and at this point it was about 2 weeks of very light bleeding. At this point they also seemed concerned so I went in for a blood test. The results came back good and they assumed I was just less pregnant than I thought. I was to go back 2 days later for a follow up. I went back and although my levels rose, they did not double like anticipated. They scheduled me for another blood test 2 days later. My levels had dropped.. Another test.. levels rose.. Here we are 3 blood tests later with no clue what it going on. I went over for an ultrasound to determine if it was an ectopic pregnancy as I was checking all the boxes. The pregnancy could not be located so it was ruled a possible ectopic pregnancy with no location determined and I was given 2 shots of chemo to stop the pregnancy.
I am blessed to say I gave birth to a healthy baby girl 14 months later but that brings you to where we are today.
My husband and I are currently trying for baby number 2. I received a very faint line on a test on Thursday, a negative digital test on Friday and another faint line yesterday although it did appear darker than my first test. This morning I woke up and there was some blood while I peed. I had planned on waiting to test again until tomorrow but I figured I should considering the blood. The test was another faint line, the same color or lighter than yesterday.
The bleeding is very consistent to a period, maybe a little bit darker and heavier at this point.
Do you think this is sounding like a chemical pregnancy or am I in the same boat as I was three years ago with an ectopic?
