My sisters caregiver job
Not really sure where to post this. Just looking for another pov.
My sister is a caregiver for a girl in their complex with CF.
The mom has no car and a duspended license so her husband has to take her shopping for groceries every week. (My sister doesn't drive)
She works more hours then what she is paid for. She is treated as a maid. She does ALL of the chores shile the mom sits on her ass. My sister brings her food and calls her back into the room to take her dishes to the sink.
Vacuuming, dishes, laundry, catbox, makes pretty much all the meals. Sometimes the mom wants something different so she has to cook 2 different breakfasts or 2 different lunches some days. The mother lets all the chores pile up over each weekend and my sister is expected to do it ALL.
The mother is always talking to the social worker who appears to ne on her side so my sister feels she can't try to report her. My sister is worried if she reports it she will make life a living hell and report her to cps (sge did this to the last caregiver her daughter had)
The girl is 9 years old and still needs help in the shower (my sister helps her).
My goes in the early morning and often has to wake the girl up in the morning while her mother is still sleeping. My sister also gets her started on her homeschooling. (She is homeschooled due to her disease)
My sister currently works 5 days per week but the mother is trying to get approved for a caregiver so that my sister will help her too and work 7 days a week.
The schedule is 7am -12 and then 4pm-6:30- 7 sometimes 8pm - brcause the girl has CF and needs treatments 2 twice a day ( more if she's sick) - this part is completely fine cuz it's her actual job and reason to be there.
My sister feels like a complete slave. My siater hates conflict and wont stick up for herself. The mother has a BULLY personality.
Is this normal??
Shouldnt a 9 year old be able to shower herself? And even do her treatments ( she does know how)
Obviously of course it's no fault of the child. She's really sweet!
Will this just go on forever?
