How much time playing with toddler?
My son will be 2 in March and I have a 2nd on the way, due in May. We've always gone about our days together. Ever since he was born he has always wanted to be by my side. I've worked on independent play and he's always been able to at least do the minimum (5 minutes at 6 months, 15 minutes at 12 months, etc). But at 2, they say 30 minutes at a time. He definitely can't do that, or I should say doesn't want to. At my parents house he is entertained for awhile because he's not there often, so I think he's capable. I struggle with keeping this kid constantly entertained! We do outings and lots of activities at home. I'm lucky to live somewhere where we can play outside year round so we get outside almost every day. He just does not like to be alone and he's very social. It is draining on me though as I don't live near family that could give me a break during the week and my husband works 55 hours a week. So I'm a bit tired. I know other stay at home moms can relate!
I'm wondering, how much time on average do you spend one on one playing with your toddlers? I spend hours a day and I recently talked to my friend who has a newborn and she said as long as she spends 30 minutes a day with her toddler then she is a happy camper.
