Breastfeeding making me weak, dizzy, etc?!

So I have been breastfeeding my baby girl since she was born and I’m about 4 months in. At first I didn’t really notice if breastfeeding was the problem and I ruled it on the no sleep and new mom excuse. Now 4 months in I feel it’s getting worse. I have no energy, I get dizzy throughout the day, I have headaches etc. Has anyone else gone through this while nursing?? Any thing that helped?? I stopped taking prenatals because I’m the worst pill drinker but maybe I need to start again. HELP I don’t want to stop nursing but it’s getting to a scary point.

Very much sounds like you aren’t drinking enough water and not eating enough calories.

Definitely eat and drink more. Also start taking your prenatals again, low iron can cause the symptoms you're experiencing too.

I get this way if I don’t eat enough. Try easy to grab high protein granola bars. They are simple and easy to grab.

You have to really up your calorie and water intake A LOT when nursing. Make sure you’re eating plenty of carbs and healthy fats. Snack and drink a bottle of water every time you nurse.

Eat before and after! Protein rich foods. Nursing burns calories and it's important to prepare so that you don't feel that way. I use to premake pb&j's for quick BF snacking. Hummus , oatmeal, and smoothies help too.
