The mom guilt is real 😔
My baby girl was never able to latch, even after seeing a lactation consultant, they chalked it up to underdeveloped palate or tongue muscles. So at 2 days postpartum I started exclusively pumping every 2-3 hours around the clock. It was absolutely exhausting having to pump for 20-30 minutes, clean and sanitize the pump equipment, and take care of a newborn.
By 2 months postpartum it became a little easier and more routine, but still exhausting.
About a week ago at 12 weeks postpartum I decided to drop my night pump since baby has been sleeping through the night.
My mental health and sleep have improved so much but my supply has decreased by almost 10oz a day.
So I’ve made the very difficult decision to stop pumping and start introducing formula.
I feel so guilty because my goal was 6 months and I only made it 3.
How do you get past the mom guilt of moving to formula?
What formula is the best for transitioning from breast milk?
Any encouragement would be amazing! 😢
