Had my baby/ overbearing ogyn HELP

Hey ladies ! Had my sugar baby on 1/25. 🥰 shes 6lbs and 14 oz. They told me before I had her, she'd weigh about 8lbs and in the 80th percentile on our ultrasounds but she came out smaller than expected. I was on 2000 mg of metformin for fasting numbers.

I did have a question. My ob kept testing me throughout my entire hospital stay for blood sugar levels and they always came out perfect. She is insisting that I keep testing once a day for two weeks and come back on my 6 week appointment to do a 2 hour test. She seems certain I'll be on metformin even though, I've passed everything. How do I deal with this ? Even my hospital nurses are confused. Not only that but when I told her I wanted the pill or patch, she kinda dismissed me and said I should get an IUD. I told her what if I dont have insurance or something down the road and it needs to come out and she was like ...uhhh.. planned parenthood? Lol she has been like this for awhile. I told the hospital my birth plan was to formula feed and everyone was respectful of that except my ob. She insisted that I at least try to breast feed before I give the baby formula. I've tried formula feeding with my first, it wasn't for me. I feel like I'm powerless in this situation. What do I do? Btw i did stick to formula feeding because I'm very adamant about this and the nursing staff backed me up.

I just want to say congratulations on the baby. Honestly you know what is best for you and your body in regards to birth control. If you feel strong about the IUD then you stick to that. When it comes to breastfeeding I am so sorry, there is such a push for breastfeeding and it isn't always at the benefit to the mother. I don't think your experience is abnormal unfortunately and I just want to say fed is best. Lastly the issue with the push for medication seems so odd with my own experience. You could always get a second opinion and or change doctors. Sending you a hug and well wishes.

Congratulations for your baby!! I don’t know about everything else, but since you were one such high dose, there is a chance that gd will convert to diabetes 2 .it is rare but it happens.so she probably wants to see if that’s the case.other than that it is normal practice to test you in 6 weeks 6 months and 3 years after that...
