Depends on the couple. I personally think that if you're older, know what you want & you're both past the bullshit, it's fine. If you're younger, what's the rush?
Either way, make sure that the house/apt is in one name or draw up a contract with a lawyer so you're both protected. If you break up, that could turn messy.
