When do you plan to go on maternity leave

In CA I qualify to go on maternity leave 4 weeks before delivery than 6 weeks recovery than additional 8 weeks of ponding.

After the baby comes. I could go whenever but why waste any leave just sitting around the house waiting?

I’m going at 35 weeks 🙂
I’ll be using annual leave before baby comes.
My job has to hold my position for a year, and I get paid 18 weeks may leave once baby comes.

My Mat leave will start at around 37 weeks, but I will leave around 36 weeks but have a weeks worth of holiday. Baby is likely to come around 38 weeks (planned c section) so will only be getting 2 weeks off maybe before Baby comes to nest and prepare and possibly still be home-schooling my 2 children 😩

When baby comes. With my first, I worked the morning of my 40 week appt, went to the doctor then he sent me to the hospital to be induced. I was kind of irritated that I couldn’t finish things up at work. But I’ve been working from home for almost 5 years and make my own schedule so it wasn’t a huge deal

I don’t know if this will help as I am a stay at home mom anyway, but if it were me I would want an extra week or two before the due date to make sure everything in the house was in order and ready, get some extra relaxing time in, and spend some additional one on one time with my son before his sibling comes and he feels like he isn’t getting as much attention.

I only get 12 weeks so I’ll most likely work up until delivery since we’re working remotely from home right now.

I would work up until the day. You could get induced or it could happen later than expected. So don’t waste any time sitting around. I did this with all my kids. I am grateful to be able to work remotely but if you are able to do the same maybe start working from home two weeks prior to due date or if. It work limited hours 2 weeks prior so you’re close to home just in case.

I may at 32 weeks !, in my area i may have to do a weekly covid testing because of work.. And i dont wanna do that!

39 weeks, probably a day before my scheduled c-section. I will say that with my first the last few weeks were really difficult at work but it would be more difficult leaving my baby when they are less than 12 weeks. In my opinion, mamas shouldn’t have to go back to work until at least 4 months old!! It’s so hard
