Should you wash all gifts (bouncers, strollers, toys, etc.) from your baby shower?

Obviously I will be washing all cloth-like things such as clothes, blankets, bibs, and so on.. but do we need to wash things that are coming straight out of the box? 🤔 Opinions please mamas💕

If it’s washable then yes, in my opinion it should be washed. You don’t know what happened to them before they were put in the box. I’ve been wiping down and washing everything we get for the baby. Obviously washing clothes, cloths, etc, but also wiping down toys and furniture. I feel like it’s excessive but with covid and my nesting phase, I don’t mind it. Also, I just like knowing things are clean now at least before the baby is born since I know I won’t have the energy to clean as much once she’s here.

Anything that’s washable should be washed to help remove any chemicals used in the packaging process, or germs from anyone handling the items in the factory. I think the only things I didn’t wash were my car seat and stroller.

With my first born I washed anything that was fabric and could be washed. I never wiped anything else down with wipes or cleaner 🤷🏻‍♀️
