Can I bring things to stimulate baby in nicu?

I'm going to call but was anyone able to bring toys or music players/ceiling lights things to the nicu?

My husband works in the NICU and it’s not allowed. Extra things can get in the way in case of emergency. Also certain things can stimulate other babies in the area and they may not be able to handle certain stimuli even though yours can. Other NICUs may be different, but most ICUs are really strict about extra stuff.

Not likely. Extra things can get in the way of medical equipment or staff if there is an emergency. Like another person said, there are other babies around that may or may not be able to tolerate stimuli. You can ask the nurse.

I’m sure you can bring some things especially if the baby is expected to be there for a while. But I would ask about specifics.

I was able to bring my son just a stuffed dinosaur security blanket they gave him a mobile and had him away from the others since he was doing better and wanted more attention

When my son was in the NICU the little girl in the bay next to him was on month 3 of being there are her bay was decorated like a nursery and had a few items beyond her hospital crib. But I would imagine what they could do was limited and they had to get permission. But I’m sure making it homey made the parents feel better. 
We weren’t there for very long fortunately.

My baby spent two weeks in the nicu they played nursery’s off of the computer (YouTube) and they asked us to “charge” these guys with both our scents for baby when we weren’t around. They also encouraged bringing photos of us to tape to his bed ect. Definitely ask!
