Working in a school made me not want to use popular names. But nothing too far out there either.

Depends. If it’s like REALLY popular i avoid it. When I got pregnant with my first, I loved the name Ezra but it seemed like everyone on this app was using that name 😂

I'm naming my baby Noah. It's #2 in popularity, but I don't care, because he has felt like a Noah since I first found out I was pregnant. When a name fits it fits, I don't care if there are 10 Noah's in his class.

Yes. I feel like when names are overly popular, it loses its beauty. For example, I used to think the name Ava was so pretty. Now it’s just oh-another Ava. Jade used to be my favorite girl name; now it’s becoming a filler middle name. When I was 11 I wanted twins- Jade and Jaden... well, we all know Jaden and the names that rhyme with them are now overly popular. When you give your child an overly popular name, it’s like you group them in a category. The names carry a stigma of being overly popular. But I guess every generation goes through this. That’s why we have so many Johns and Ashleys in this world.
I don’t mind somewhat popular names. I just wouldn’t name my child anything in the top 50 or any name I see posted on this app multiple times a day.

Depends on how popular and when it was popular. My youngest have a name that's quite popular - for men over 75 😆 so we kept it.

I have a 6 year old Olivia which went to number 1 that year there’s no other olivias in her class or year though I have a 5 year old Ethan which is also semi popular no one in his class or year has the same name. I also have a 4 month old Amelia I have yet to hear someone else a naming there little baby Amelia. Just because it’s popular doesn’t mean your hear it a lot or know people with the same name.

The only name my husband and I liked for our son is consistently in the top 10 year after year. It didn’t bother us because we love it so much. 
If I love a name enough, nothing would stop me from using it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would rather have a name that’s beautiful and suits my child that’s a little more popular, than something that’s trying to hard to be different. I dislike when names are difficult to spell or made up.

Somewhat! 
When my eldest was born the name Lilly was suuuuuper popular. And surprise surprise, she has two Lilly's in her class. Which is why I call her Lilly at home, but I actually have her the name Lillian. Which is very uncommon in her age group. So she's the only Lillian in her year haha. 
My second daughter has an uncommon name but my third has a somewhat common name. Nyla. I gave her the second name Mariya which she could switch to if there are to many other Nylas. That's literally the only reason why my kids have middle names 🤣
One of my nephews is called Ryhan Umar. But there were so many Ryhans in his class, that everyone started calling him Umar. I have never in my life called him by his first name. To me he is Umar 🤭
I just make sure I equally love their first and second names or I make their names longer and use the name I really love as a nickname

I’d like my kid to have a name that’s not common, but also not crazy unique. I had 5 camerons in my grade (small school with 60ish kids in each grade) not counting the camerons in the grade below and above so we always referred to each one with their last name, I don’t think I’d want my kid to go through that lol.
