Ladies!!!

Is it possible to get your period as soon as 6 weeks after birth while breastfeeding?! Just a few days ago I started bleeding again out of nowhere. The bleeding and lochia started to lighten up about 4 weeks after birth. So much to where I almost only needed a panty liner and not an actual pad. But now I’m bleeding and using super size absorbent pads and having to change them every few hours. I’m not experiencing any blood clots or anything so I don’t think I need to worry about it being postpartum hemorrhaging.

I’m just confused because I read that if you’re exclusively breastfeeding (like I am) that your period shouldn’t return for quite a few months following birth. So is it possible to have my period right now? Idk what else it could be. I have an OBGYN appointment in 5 days so hopefully it lightens up or stops by then because idk if I should go while bleeding 😬

This is just super weird. Any advice?! Anyone had any previous experiences like this?
