Why are condoms making my boyfriend break out

Me and my boyfriend recently started having sex. I had lost my virginity about a year ago and I never actually used a condom. Me and my ex used pull out, never condoms (stupid, if you truly don't want a baby at all I would use something more effective). I took my boyfriends virginity and he used a condom and he's been having this itching after sex and is developing a rash. It only happens when we have sex. I don't think it's my vagina doing it, so is it possible it's the condom?
