Unbearable stomach pulling pain past two months

Past two periods I’ve had horrible pain in my stomach at the start of my period. I can’t sleep at night as it’s like a twisting feel in my stomach along with cramps. Is this normal? I don’t think I ever felt like this before the first time last month and again this month. I hold my stomach out of shear pain :(
