White spot on 8 month old’s gums

My 8 month old developed a white bump on his gums a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was a tooth but it isn’t and it hasn’t gone away. Everything I’ve read says Epstein pearls are only in newborns. Anyone know what it could be? I called the nurse line at the pediatrician’s office to see if they think I should bring him in.
