Eye crusted over?

I’m waiting the doctor to call back but was wondering if any one else’s.baby had their eye crusted over?  His eye is not pink but he keeps getting eye cruston his left eye. I’m thinking it’s a clogged tear duct but not sure. And of course I’m googling and freaking out that my 18 month old put poop in his eye or something to cause pink eye🙃

Yep, sounds like a clogged tear duct. Just put warm compresses over it

Happened with my little girl! Her Dr prescribed Erythromycin 3x a day for 4 days. It’s cleared it up a lot!!

It is normal for newborns to get crusty eyes. Doctors are normal not concerned about it unless there is an infection or there is no infect and it has been going on for 6months+ as that could mean underdeveloped tear duct.

My baby boy has the same thing. Doc prescribed drops but they weren’t helping. Hubby insisted on using my breast milk as drops and it cleared up drastically.

My 19 month old had this when she was a newborn and we just used hot compresses and then later when it came back around 3 mos we got eye drops and didn’t have a problem again!
