Are most people, “doing just fine (financially),”during these hard COVID times?
I’m curious what the general consensus is on how most people are handling the COVID crisis. I know people are struggling mentally, and in other ways, but let’s focus on financials. Do you think the average person is doing the same as before, or better (no real change in financial position or better), worse (have less in savings/none in savings, gained more debt, had to apply for financial aids, or request loan/rent/mortgage forbearance), or treading water (same as before, staying afloat, but very close to becoming one who needs help)?
While I am fortunate to be doing about the same as before, and believe it will continue that way for me, I’m well aware that is not the case for MANY others. I have seen a few comments in CC lately that elude to the fact most people are doing just fine, and I actually feel it’s the opposite. I feel like most people aren’t doing okay, and will be struggling to get back on track for years (especially anyone who had to hold off on paying rent or their mortgage).
I’d love to hear your personal experiences, or stories you know of others, to see why you think what you do.
