Have you given your child/children traditional Hebrew names?

Just for fun! Our first born has a traditional Hebrew name but we don't know about our second yet.

Answer

I told my husband that my requirement for naming our children was that the names be transliterated Hebrew names. I understand that having four separate Hebrew and English first and middle names allows the parents more opportunity to name the child after more relatives, but I don’t think it’s necessary. As a Hebrew teacher in after school religious programs, I’ve had children who had no idea what their Hebrew names were and sometimes even the parents forgot. My husband wants to send our future children to public school, so they will be enrolled in a Hebrew School program. If their names are the same in both Hebrew and English, then they won’t forget them.
