Is Johnson baby lotion good for newborns?

My son is 1 month old and I’ve been hearing a lot of people say that Johnson is bad etc. I’ve already bought it before hearing the reviews from people. What do you guys think? Should I use it or do you guys have any other recommendations?

I’ve heard it’s bad so I don’t use it BUT that’s all they use in the hospital on babies so its a confusing thing lol I wouldn’t waste it if you already bought it

You should look up its EWG Skin Deep rating! EWG breaks down all of the ingredients and any issues that they may cause. It seems like the fragrance is the biggest cause for concern with Johnson’s Baby Lotion, but you should do some research, educate yourself, and make your own informed decisions!

There were issues in the past with their baby powder, but I believe that was resolved? They own Aveeno too. I used both with my oldest, but due to skin issues I use CereVe for my youngest.

It’s usually the fragrance and is a problem is most scented lotions, body wash etc. usually the fragrances they use can mess with your hormones (this goes for most adult brands and products too). We avoid stuff like that especially for our kids because they’re so small and growing so quickly, for me it’s more important to avoid that early than it is later (though we try to avoid it altogether). Our alternative was always a cold-milled, cold-pressed raw coconut oil. It’s solid at room temp, so you just dig in, grab some, then rub it between your hands to warm it and apply to baby. No scents to worry about
